Re: Ray in panto - Aladdin at Peterborough
Sadly, Ray has pulled out of Aladdin since he has not been well for over a week now, so if you were planning on booking any tickets to see Ray in Aladdin, please don't, as Ray won't be there. Also if you have booked any tickets for upcoming performances of Aladdin, the Broadway theatre is ringing everyone just to inform them about it. It is best for you to ring up yourself, as you get a better chance of getting a refund.

STAR LEAVES BROADWAY PANTO FOR ITV'S SKATING SHOW
PANTO star Ray Quinn has left this year's production of Aladdin at the Broadway Theatre to appear on the new series of ITV's Dancing On Ice. The 20-year-old former X Factor semi-finalist and Brookside actor left his role as Aladdin more than three weeks from the end of its run into mid january.
Ray left the show on Tuesday and has been replaced by understudy Owen Thompson, a West End performer.
Although he already knew Ray would leave the production to star in the ice spectacular, which begins on ITV1 next month, theatre owner Rinaldo Fasulo says he is suprised at just how early he left. He also confirmed that Ray has been practising for the popular ITV show at Peterborough's Planet Ice, in Bretton, with his dancing partner.
Mr Fasulo said: "He's doing Dancing On Ice and that starts in January. He said he might not finish the run of shows because of the training."
"I thought he was going to be here until near to the end and I didn't know he was going to be going this early. I think it's good news for him, but for us we've still got the other two stars and Owen is fantastic.
"Apparently Ray is favourite to win. It was discussed a few weeks ago, but it's meant to be a secret."
Despite heading off for all the glitz and glamour of the Elstree Studios, in London, where Dancing On Ice is filmed, Ray says he is sad to leave Peterborough behind him.
However, he was also full of praise for his replacement who is taking on the role of Aladdin until the production ends on Friday, January 18.
He said: "Everyone here has been amazing and it's been a very exciting part of my career. I've met some great people and had a fantastic time in Peterborough."
"Owen is superb. He's a fantastic lad, full of energy. The audiences will love him."
Although disappointed to see Ray leave the show, pantomime producer Guy Loveday said: "I can't comment but it's due to other work commitments."
"We like to keep a good name in the industry, so we couldn't say no and we wouldn't want any unhappy people performing in the show. The show is bigger than one person. Owen is phenomenal, he's a West End star and he knows what he's doing."
A spokesman from Planet Ice confirmed that "somebody" has been training at the Bretton-based rink, but couldn't say who it was.
She said: "As far as I know, the training is finished an they are training in London now."
The production has recieved national acclaim after a glowing review from The Stage, the newspapaer for the performing arts industry.
Tickets for Aladdin, which also stars Brian Capron, Faye Tozer and Postman Pat, are still available and priced at £10.
